“Home Sweet Home” is a proverb everyone around the world likes and agrees with. No one wants to leave ones home which is the other name of paradise on this earth. But each one of us has to leave his home place temporarily for many purposed as education, vacation, earns ones living or business tours etc.
Students when leave their native town for studies usually rent out apartments, flats or live in hostels. If one goes for some kind of business tour, official meeting or vacation he can not rent above mentioned places.
Here the hotels become significant.
A hotel is a building that provides lodging, meals and other services on commercial basis. Inns have existed in ancient times to serve merchants and other travelers. The spread of travel in 18th century because of industrial resolution stimulated the development of inns. In 1889 the Savoy hotel in London set a new standard with its own electricity and special services.
The modern hotel is largely the result of railroads. After World War 2, new hotels tended to be larger and were often built near airports. Hotel chains became common, making purchasing, sales and reservations more efficient.
Hotels fall into three categories i.e Transient hotels, Resort Hotels which are basically meant for vacationers and the third category that is residential hotels essentially apartments buildings offering rooms and meal services.
There are particular rating systems for hotels and they are as diversified as the countries are. For example across United Kingdom hotels are rated under a Quality Assessment System. In Spain, government tourism authority regulates the system.
A number of criteria- room sizes, restaurant options, amenities, entertainment facilities-must met in order to get a star rating.
Hotels are rated as follows:
One or two stars hotels are hotels where you are provided with very clean environment and are economical.
Three stars hotels have Air conditioners, fridge, telephone and 24 hours internet facility in their rooms. Four and Five stars hotels are the luxurious hotels providing royal treatment to their guests. These hotels have the facilities like travel desk that helps the guests in organizing and managing city tours for them and private vehicles on hire etc.
So one can easily select a hotel for himself whenever he feels like relaxing in a different environment and pamper themselves away from a world of business calls, meetings and conferences etc. The best thing is one can get a package of ones own choice in the hotel one wants or affords to be in. And if you are on an official tour then there is no need to worry as your expense will be borne by the company.
